Arsenal show true character to get all 3 points at Norwich

Steve Morison's opening goal of the day due to some sloppy defending from German beanpole Per Mertesacker could have started a terrible afternoon for the Gunners

However Arsenal's recent surge in form helped them today to win all 3 points and move level on points with Chelsea and Tottenham, and surpassing Liverpool. Today was not a world-class display from Arsenal but they showed something they haven't for a long time and that is character.
The Dutch maestro Robin Van Persie, showed his class once again but it was the battling spirit in Arsenal's midfield and defence that will delight the Gunners. A great performance once again from Thomas Vermaelen showed how much the Belgian was missed during his injury lay off, but Koscielny, Song and Arteta also showed their great defensive capabilities.

Before the international break many pundits were raving about Tottenham's fighting spirit against Fulham, and now I feel the same should be done for Arsenal, as the Arsenal of old would have lost this game, but their new found confidence, world class captain, and growing togetherness, Arsenal could still be going places and challenging for Champions League football.

One negative thing that may come from the game though was the dreadful performance of Arsenal's German centre half. Wenger may once again have to invest in a centre half in January to compensate for Mertesacker's seeming incapability of adapting to the English game, perhaps it may be a compliment to the English game that an international centre half couldn't handle Norwich, but in no way is it a compliment to the lanky German, who needs to adapt, and fast.
